2021 was a whirlwind year for everyone, and here at Delwest, it was no different. While we’re still excited to celebrate our highlights with you, our attention has been drawn to more urgent topics. Namely, victims of the tragic Marshall Fire. The most destructive fire in Colorado’s history, the Marshall Fire ripped through Boulder County, gutting homes and leaving many renters, homeowners, and landlords with nothing.

Families are still reeling from the impact, including a single mother of three, forced to live in a hotel with her children. Julianne McKay and her children, one with special needs, must walk away from all their belongings and restart.

Her story resonated with Delwest President and CEO, Joe DelZotto.
“We were planning to have a couple of model homes here [at Greyhound Park], and the housing markets been very strong here, so we figured we could live without one of our model homes and be happy to give it to a family in need,” says DelZotto. McKay and her three children, Troy, Ginger, and Ezekiel, will get to call a model build in Greyhound Park, home for the next year, rent-free, while figuring out what’s next.

We are grateful to be able to lend a helping hand to our neighboring community members when they need it most. Delwest will remain dedicated to our founding principles of building community and creating better lives. It’s what we’ve always done, and we’re sure not ready to stop now.

Community Update

With the first phase of home sales for both single-family and duplexes nearing capacity, we are quickly preparing for the launch of Phase 2! More homesites will be coming available as we enter the second quarter of 2022. Overall demand has been strong, and we anticipate that Phase 2 will move just as quickly from released to sold-out.

Here are a few quick highlight images from the debut of our staged model unit of Miss Gilda, our 4BR/3BA single-family home:

Team Member Spotlight:
Meet Rose Gallucci!

Meet Rosalia “Rose” Gallucci! She’s one of our wonderful project coordinators and has been with Delwest for 10 years. When asked what she likes most about her job, Rose said, “I love the various aspects of the company—there is something different every day here since we build so many different types of homes, condos, and townhomes.”

Fun fact about Rose: She grew up with sign language as her first language because both of her parents are Deaf.
